Borovets ski resort, the oldest and most famous Bulgarian mountain resort, is situated on the northern slopes of the Rila Mountain at an altitude of 1350 meters. The resort enjoys a breathtaking location huddled amongst age-old pine woods right at the foot of Mount Moussala (2925 m), the highest peak on the Balkans. Established at the end of the 19th century as a hunting place for the Bulgarian kings, Borovets has developed into a modern year round resort and is the top destination for Bulgarian skiing.

58 km of pistes and 35 km of cross county trails weave their way through the stunning scenery of the Rila mountains. Borovets skiing and snowboarding is available for all levels and the added feature of several floodlit pistes allows late night fun on the snow. DIRECTIONS TO BOROVETS SKI RESORT

Located only 72 km away from Sofia and just 126 km away from Plovdiv, Borovets ski resort is easily accessible at all times of year. Borovets is the closest Bulgarian ski resort to Sofia airport which makes for a very convenient airport transfer time. Most flights arrive in Sofia but you can also use the airport in Plovdiv. We are happy to arrange Borovets airport transfers or car rental from either location. The Sofia to Borovets transfer time is just 75 minutes and from Plovdiv to Borovets is 90 minutes.
