BOROVETS SKI RESORT - Facilities
Child Care & Ski Kindergarten
Several ski kindergarten and crèche facilities are available in the resort. There are several nurseries for children aged 1-4yrs which open daily from 08.00 to 17.00. The Borovets ski kindergarten is available for children aged 4-7 years and is located at the bottom of the Rila slopes. This offers an ideal introduction to the slopes. Please check at reception and we will advise on the most suitable options available.
Sledging and Tobogganing
Toboggans can be rented or purchased at the Chamkoria chalets mini-market. There are many suitable sledging runs in the fields just around Chamkoria Chalets. For the more adventurous tobogganist you can head to the Rila ski slopes which offer a greater challenge. The Rila ski slopes are floodlit at night which is an ideal time to head out with your sledges as there are less people on the pistes.
Ski doo Trips
A ski-doo trip is a great way to see the Borovets area in winter. Ride through the forest or wizz along the mountain trials. Our guides will take you off the beaten track so you can experience the back country on skidoos. The trips are arranged at a pace to suit your group. Ski-doo trips can be just for an hour in the evening or if you want to explore the mountain then it is possible to hire for a day or more. Check with us when you arrive for more details.
Cross-Country Skiing
Go cross-country skiing directly from our Chamkoria Chalets complex! The guide will meet in the morning and bring you for a 2-3 hour excursion in the nearby area through the trees. Alternatively, you can go from the centre of Borovets. The price is 25 lev per person (adult or child) and includes all the equipment plus guide. There is a vast area to enjoy cross-country skiing in Borovets.
Snow Shoes & Winter Walking
Snowshoeing is fun for people of all ages and abilities. You can choose from our guided tours of various difficulties or just rent your own snow shoes and head out for your own adventure on the mountain. You can walk in the fields and forests around Chamkoria Chalets or take the gondola to the top of the mountain. The Borovets mountains are varied and our walks will take you through valley trails, forest tracks and onto high mountain pastures and snow fields. Which ever you choose you are guaranteed breathtaking views and an experience you will never forget. The walk from the top of the gondola to the Musala hut is a pleasant 4 hour return trip and highly recommended for walkers of all abilities. If you are planning a private tour we recommend checking the weather with an experienced guide before setting off.
Horse Riding & Sleigh Rides
Even in winter you can enjoy horse riding in Borovets. The guided tours will take you through the forest around the resort and along the mountain trails. It is a beautiful way to spent a few hours or even a day enjoying the scenery. A horse drawn sleigh ride through the forests is also available.
Bowling
Bowling is available in the Samokov hotel and opens daily.
Ice Rink - Samokov
If you would like to try your hand at ice skating there is a large ice rink in the square in Samokov town.
Cultural Tours
